Working notes

Customers experience the whole system.

A customer sees one company, even when the company operates as many separate teams. Repeated onboarding, conflicting answers, and different ways to transact make those internal boundaries part of the customer’s experience.

The software is only one part of the solution. A portal can make a request easy to submit, but someone still needs to assess it, approve it, act on it, and communicate the result. The experience depends on that whole chain.

Reliable information matters at every level. A leader needs an accurate view of performance; an analyst needs the context to make a decision; a salesperson needs to know whether a customer request is complete. Each should be able to trust the information relevant to their work.

Designing the whole system means connecting those needs with clear responsibilities and visible progress. That is how a digital capability becomes a useful service, and how customers can get things done without learning the company’s organization chart.
